Hey everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the start of fall. The last two weeks have been nothing short of amazing in terms of my recovery. Although still tired my body has been recovering at lightening speed. I am now on a medicine that addresses the specific area that was causing my digestive issues which is nothing short of a miracle. Sleep still eludes me as my bladder seems to have a mind of its own overnight and I wake more often than not like a toddler learning to potty train. That’s probably the hardest part right now as the stigma around it has been engrained in us since childhood and it’s just frustrating but I know it’s part of the journey and could take months before my bladder is trained. The good news is that during the day is not an issue and I am able to manage it with ease.
Probably the biggest sign of recovery is that I am now getting into the gym. I was able to spend some time there the last few weeks and although I am starting slow at least I am starting. Still some things I can’t do without feeling some pain but there are plenty of things I can do and it feels great!
So overall everything is looking up! Feeling good, happy, and getting ready to go back to work in a few weeks.
From a medical perspective the next big milestone is this week when I meet with my oncologist to discuss my future plans for treatment and monitoring. Regardless I am in a much better place and confident about my future prognosis.
Now it’s time to get outside and enjoy some of this beautiful New England fall weather. Today is going to be a great day!
